NICKY is
a proud BASI graduate comprehensive Pilates instructor, and a Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist through National Academy of Sports Medicine, as well as Precision Nutrition certified coach. Sessions with me reflect my time spent in classical studios, embodying the spirit of original Pilates, yet adapting evidence-based cutting-edge studies on Human Movement System, a signature BASI approach.
My year-long certification accumulated over 500 hours of apprenticeship and practice, hours of digging deeper into movement and what it means to be moving well, and hours of private instructions from masters and teachers around the world. My exit dissertation was motivated by finally having a control over my own recurring shoulder dyskinesia and helping those around me with similar issues stemming from life style requiring hours of sitting and computer use.
A fervent believer in diversity of movement as the key to healthy body and mind, I regularly take Pilates outdoors as well as to indoor cross training and bring to my classes fresh looks at functional movements. A learner for life, I also study and incorporate in my practice elements of chinese internal martial arts and meditation, principles of primal movements, suspension training (TRX, Redcord multi suspension), and various resistance training such as barbell, kettle bell, battle ropes, and indian club swings, into my clients' training programs.
I am also certified to provide customized, research-based, and sustainable nutrition coaching backed by Precision Nutrition to optimize client's fitness journey.
